HÜBNER Photonics Welcomes Blackeberg High School Students for Work-Study Program
We are thrilled to announce that three talented students from Blackeberg High School recently completed an enriching internship at our Stockholm office at Cobolt AB. As part of their study/work program, the students delved into the fascinating world of digital laser modulation.
During their time with us, the students demonstrated remarkable creativity and problem-solving skills. Reflecting on their experience, they shared, “You have to be creative with your approach. Things are not straightforward.”
Arvid, Philip, and Mattias were specially mentored by Principal Laser Engineer Dr. Magnus Rådmark. According to Dr. Rådmark, the project needed to be launched, so when the students approached him about their willingness to work with us, he realized that the timing was perfect.
When asked how it feels to mentor young students, Dr. Rådmark said, “It is really fun to see other people learn.”
The students dedicated one afternoon of work each week to the project, with the rest of their time focused on gathering data for their final thesis.
When asked about the differences between the workplace and school, the students noted that while school often brings stress about grades, the workplace environment is more supportive. “At school, you are more stressed about grades, but in the workplace, the pressure is less. You can ask for help,” they said.
According to their mentor, their hands-on experiments have made valuable contributions to our work here. In fact, their measurements can be used in our datasheets, showcasing the practical impact of their work.
When asked about their plans after this experience, the students shared:
Arvid: “I plan on pursuing university studies in physics and engineering.”
Philip: “I am not sure yet, but I will probably do my military service and afterwards pursue a university degree in physics.”
Mattias: “I will also pursue a university degree in physics and engineering.”
Reflecting on the lessons learned, they said,
“It is all about trial and error. And it’s okay to ask for help!”
We are proud to support the next generation of scientists and engineers and look forward to seeing their future achievements.
